What is Medicare?
Medicare is a federal health program for people 65 and over, people under age 65 with certain disabilities, and those with end stage renal disease (ESRD).
Medicare is not a one-size-fits-all. There are multiple parts of Medicare and not all plans work the same, which is why our agents, are here to guide you to the best plan that suits your needs.
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plans
Medicare Supplement plans are health insurance plans sold by private insurance companies that fill in the gaps that Original Medicare doesn’t cover.
The benefits of the plans are the same from plan to plan. Different plan letters offer different benefits. (insert link to plan letters)
With a Supplement plan, you have the freedom to go to any doctor who accepts Original Medicare and do not need referrals.
Prescription Drug Plans (Medicare Part D)
Part D benefits are provided through private insurance companies.
You can get your prescription drug coverage by joining a stand-alone plan or through your Medicare Advantage plan that includes prescription drug coverage.
Depending on your income, you may qualify for Extra Help. More information on Extra Help can be found here.
Original Medicare
Original Medicare consists of two parts — Part A and Part B, and covers 80% of Hospital and Doctor costs.
Medicare Advantage Plans (Medicare Part C)
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies and combine Part A and Part B benefits.
Some plans may offer additional benefits (dental, vision, hearing, gym membership) and prescription drug coverage.
Plans have a set network of providers and hospitals. Plan benefits change from year to year.
